What if fame, or the selfish act of being famous, was as important as life and death? That’s the existential theme presented in Hefty, a half-hour comedy-drama set in the hilariously high-stakes world of plus-size male modeling. The series follows Andy Waller, a mid-30s struggling plus size model, or “hefty.” As the series kicks off, Andy is a failed hefty who is suddenly thrust into the national spotlight when he’s chosen to take over for the reigning king of heftys, Jack Spade. There’s just one problem – Andy also has a loving wife and daughter who feel neglected by his tireless pursuit of fame. Will Andy find a way to balance his new and exciting career with the family he adores? Or will achieving the fame he’s long desired also lead to his downfall?
