Last One Picked follows the journey of 12-year-old Charlie Lynch, a short and chubby kid who feels like a perpetual outsider, especially when it comes to sports. Mourning his father’s death and preferring the comfort of video games, Charlie reluctantly agrees to join a summer baseball league at the urging of his older brother, Jake, with the stipulation that he won’t be the last one picked. Initially, Charlie struggles on the field, facing constant embarrassment as he strikes out and fumbles catches. However, everything changes when he discovers a magical box of cereal called Charlie Stars, which transforms him into an extraordinary player, leading to spectacular catches and game-winning home runs. But when Jake consumes all the cereal just before the championship game, Charlie must dig deep to discover whether he can truly shine without his lucky charm.
